Thrive provides microfinancing and business support that can help refugee entrepreneurs start and grow viable new businesses. Thrive enables and empowers refugees to become financially independent, to create jobs, and to integrate faster and more successfully as active contributors to our economy and society. I have mentored the entrepreneurs since 2018, including Ramssin Furniture.
The Haymarket Foundation works with people that other services are not able to: those who have co-occurring mental health, alcohol and other drug issues and frequently, lifelong trauma and disability. I started volunteering with them in 2021, helping to develop and grow their corporate sponsorship program. Check out their unique proposition and their work in supporting people in our community who are in crisis.
